 An interview visit is extended to those individuals selected by our Resident Selection Committee. Your visit to our department is intended to be as informative and pleasant as possible. Because we recognize the personal expense and effort involved in your coming to UT Southwestern for an interview, we organize the day so that you, the faculty, and residents will learn enough about each other to make an informed decision about your residency choice.
The night before your interview you will be provided hotel accomodations at the Sheraton Suites Market Center in Dallas. We also provide dinner at one of several nice restaraunts here in the North Dallas area for all applicants. This is an enjoyable evening intended to give you direct access, in a comfortable and informal setting, to our current residents and learn more about the benefits of our department.
Day of Interview
On the morning of the interview, transportation is provided from the hotel to the UTSW campus. Upon your arrival there will be an orientation video and summary with our staff before moving on to the first of two individual interviews. Each individual interview will be conducted with members of the interview team which is composed of physicians who have trained and lived in many parts of the country.
The interview day will include a personal interview with Dr. Charles W. Whitten, the UTSW Anesthesiology Chairman and Program Director. In addition, you will join a variety of our current residents for a catered group lunch located in our Conference Room. Once you depart, each applicant will have the opportunity to provide us with direct feedback on their interview experience.
